Illinois Servicemember Loses Home To Foreclosure
Reportedly, troops on active duty are protected from foreclosure only if their financial delinquency is the result of their military service. In this case, the doctor's failure to pay his mortgage started before the Army sent him overseas and, consequently, is not entitled to the protection afforded by the Federal law now known as the Servicemembers' Civil Relief Act.
