Investigation Reveals Questionable Lending Practices In Lawrence

A Boston Globe article published in August, 2006 describes an investigation that Globe staff writers did into mortgage fraud in Lawrence, Massachusetts. They reported that in almost all cases that they examined, "monthly mortgage bills were hundreds of dollars more than borrowers could afford. The buyers soon faced foreclosure and ruined credit ratings that will probably hound them for years."
