S. Florida Cop Charged With Stealing Dead Uncle's Home Equity

The Miami Herald is reporting that Leon K. Lewis, a 22-year Miami-Dade corrections officer, was charged this week with first degree grand theft, forgery and uttering a forged document. The charges were made in connection with an alleged forgery of Lewis' uncle's signature to take a mortgage out on the uncle's North Miami-Dade home, according to authorities.
