NY Man Accused Of Swiping Ailing 93-Year Old Mom's House, Using Her Credit Cards To Cover His Own Bills

In New York City, the New York Post reports:
  • A New York man promised to care for his ailing 93-year-old mom but instead took her house and used her credit cards to cover his own bills, she claims in a lawsuit.

Joel Shandelman of Monsey is accused of “systematically pilfering” his mother’s assets after an April 2013 fall left her in failing health in a rehab facility.

“He sure took care of her,” sniped Steven Harfenist, the lawyer representing Bernice Shandelman in a Manhattan federal-court suit.

Joel also allegedly refuses to return his mom’s wedding and engagement rings. Reached by phone, he did not comment.
